Pet Stress Management

Pets that stay with us benefit not only from a clean, animal friendly environment but the attention of our professional staff. Our staff is your pet’s best friend while you are gone and they strive to make your pet as comfortable as possible during your absence. Our integrated Pet Stress Management criteria ensure that every guest is a happy guest.

Of course, in the event there is an extreme separation anxiety problem, we will contact you immediately and make safe and appropriate arrangements.

Behavior

During your pet’s stay, our trained staff closely monitor’s their behavior for signals that can indicate how well your pet is adjusting to being away from you. Signs we look for include:

• excessive panting or yawning
• tense body language
• erratic eye movement
• excessive behavior

The Solution – We begin right away by building rapport with your pet through socialization, treats, petting and talking with him or her. We constantly work to earn and keep your animal’s trust.

Biology

We monitor food, water, stool and urine several times a day because this tells us to what degree may be experiencing stress. If any of these indicators do not meet our satisfaction, we remedy the situation with our established protocol, coupled with an effective, gentle response (all learned from years of experience and training).

Environment

We manage your pet’s environment with a variety of approaches, including:

• three stage water filtration system
• air in the entire facility is turned over at least twice an hour and filtered
• structured environment and schedule for a regular routine
• soothing music (engineered for dogs) to ease nerves
• clean the entire area twice each day and rotate pet-safe cleaning agents to maintain resistance to unwanted bacteria
