Happy Tales

Jeanine Holcer and “Ella”

Ella is a six-year-old Siberian Husky who rates Belle Aire Kennels as Number One! Ella says her parents travel quite a bit so she needs a good, fun place to hang out when they are busy. So the first kennel that her Mom tried was not very friendly, and neither one of them liked that. When they found Belle Aire right in the neighborhood with every one of their staff “such very nice people,” Ella was very taken with them. Her Mom agrees and says, “They are all very loving and very aware of each dog. It amazes me that they know everything about each dog. Ella has a really big yard at home in which to run and play (very important for a Husky), and both she and her Mom like the layout of Belle Aire. “It has the same atmosphere as home,” says Ella. And Mom says “I like the layout inside also because it is more family styled, not all business, and they are all so involved and close to each dog.” Ella added that with the other kennel she was “confused when she was dropped off and desperate to get out. Now she is happy going and coming – a good response that she is being taken care of.” She also enjoys the playtimes – as many as she needs – run time and socialization. She gets groomed and bathed and her Mom says she comes out “so fluffed and puffed and very mellow and happy.” One time Ella needed a little stay there because of some construction at her own home, and they took her in on short notice and gave her a great time. “It is really like her second home,” says Mom. And, remember, always listen to Mom!

One other mention from Mom was that a while back they needed a place for their rabbit to stay. It was spur of the moment but very important to them. Belle Aire had not taken in rabbits then but they got a cage and food and took care of the rabbit for her. They were “terrific about acquiring a new animal. They don’t restrict themselves; they grow and try to accommodate.” And for your information, Belle Aire Kennels does board and care for rabbits, cats, birds, and other small animals.

Donna Schieszier and “Max”

Donna and her male Rottweiler Max from Downers Grove had grown very dissatisfied with their former kennel. Max just did not want to go there any more. Considering Max is 12 years old and has hip problems, you can understand Donna’s extra concern and desire to find a good place for Max. She often needed a “second home” for Max when Donna’s job required the frequent travel that it did or when she went on vacation. They are both happy to say that they discovered Belle Aire Kennels where Max loves to go and is excited to see the staff each time. “He is the same as when he is at home – happy and well cared for.” Max likes it because he also gets frequent visitors when he stays in the “At Home Suite” at Belle Aire. Donna brings his own bed, and he just settles into his little vacation with friends.

Rita Patel and “Shera”

Rita Patel comes all the way out from Chicago to board her Chow German Shepherd mix Shera at Belle Aire Kennels. Shera was adopted by Rita in April of 2007 and went to a city kennel. But Rita is from the Downers Grove area, and her parents still live here. They saw Belle Aire and thought it was really good. Rita and Shera liked it so much better than other kennels closer by that they now use Belle Aire exclusively for “vacations” and grooming. “They treat her as not just any dog, but as Shera! She is definitely a happy dog when she goes there.” So that’s the final word from Rita and Shera!

Marcie Voelker and “Madison & Cricket”

Golden Retriever girls Madison (1-1/2 yrs.) and Cricket (2 yrs.), along with their Mom Marcie, live in Wheaton and are always eager to visit Belle Aire Kennels. “Cricket is my nervous one, and I was worried at first about letting Michelle give her a bath. But she enjoyed it so much that she wants to go back for a bath all the time. They both start barking in the driveway as we pull up!” Mom likes the fact that she can call today for an appointment or reservation for tomorrow and they always accommodate them. She said, “Some other kennels gave me a six month wait for boarding! I took a tour of Belle Aire, and it is so very clean, caring and they know so much!” Marcie says her dogs do the whole thing -- play groups and TLC, grooming which is fabulous, day care, etc. “And it’s so reasonable for such a great place.”

Jackie Terpstra and “Peaches”

Peaches the little three-year-old female English bulldog is described by her Mom Jackie T. from Downers Grove as “something else!” Peaches wasn’t as happy with boarding elsewhere which meant a diet change and a stressful situation. But in the last two years since finding Belle Aire, Jackie says Peaches does “so well there. She is very happy and loves to go there. As soon as she sees her dog food bag, she goes to the car waiting to get started.” Peaches goes to Belle Aire for boarding and grooming - which she loves too! Mom summed it up - “They have a personal touch and a real personal interest in every dog. Peaches loves it. She comes back happy and I know she has had a wonderful time.”

Lee Sylvander and “Jesse and Mia”

Jesse, a nine-year-old Shepherd Chow and her sister Mia, a five-month old Shepherd Rottweiler Beagle puppy in Lombard both think Belle Aire Kennels is their home away from home. Their Mom Lee totally agrees. ”We interviewed three or four other kennels and even tried one, but we knew we found the best one with Belle Aire,“ says Lee. ”I know they feel at home and safe there. They don‘t feel ’penned in‘ and they love to socialize with humans and dogs alike!“ She added, “Shepherd Chows are great family dogs, but if left alone they can become isolated and overly protective. With Belle Aire, both Jesse and Mia come back happy and relaxed. There was a time before we got Mia that, I had to leave Jesse at Belle Aire for weeks at a time. My job is such that I might tell them I‘m coming to pick her up in half an hour and then not be able to get there for two days. They are always able to help with no problems and very pleasant about it, too. Price-wise they are also very accommodating and take care of all our needs, even with administering medication. Jesse and Mia can‘t wait to get out of the car when we pull up and start nudging me out the door!“ Seems like the saying hold true here - animals are great judges of human nature - so Jesse and Mia say it all.
